Jotting Sandy
August 20, 2008 – 3:28 pmIn my previous post we talked about Sandy (iwantsandy.com), the virtual assistant to help you keep track of events and lists.
One way we communicate with Sandy is using text messaging or email. If we’re at our desk though, isn’t it just easier to set an appointment or add an item right to our list? Why would we want to go through the trouble of emailing Sandy?
The answer to that is, going mobile. Having all of your appointments and lists in the hands of Sandy means she will be able to look them up when you are away from your desk. Just use her lookup instructions. Once you get the lingo down your conversations with her will become second nature.
Sometimes though, you are on the road, away from your computer but still need to remember something or set an appointment. There is another service we are using in combination with Sandy. It’s called Jott (jott.com). Jott allows you to create a message/email and send it to anybody in your contact list simply using your voice. Just call their 866 number and speak your note. They will then transcribe the note into text and send it to the correct destination, including Sandy.
Now you can see the convenience of being on the road, calling the Jott line and sending a note to Sandy, “Remind me to meet George tomorrow at 10 AM”. Done. A transcribed message will be sent to Sandy as though you emailed her directly.
Let me know your experience with the Jott/Sandy combination and any other suggestions you might have.
Here’s to making life more convenient…
